P374K of shabu seized in Sorsogon buy-bust op 

An estimated Php 374,000 worth of shabu was seized from a suspect during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Salvacion, West District, Sorsogon City.

The suspect, identified as “Daniel,” is a 49-year-old painter and a resident of Barangay Timbayog, Casiguran, Sorsogon.

He was arrested by a joint force comprising the Sorsogon City Police Station (CPS), the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), the Casiguran Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Sorsogon Police Provincial Office (PPO), and the PDEA Regional Office 5.

Confiscated from the suspect were 55 grams of suspected shabu, which has an estimated market value of Php 374,000.

“The Sorsogon City Police Station continues to promote an intensified campaign against illegal drugs to curb criminality and maintain peace and order in the city, in line with the goal of the New Philippines,” the unit said in a statement.

The suspect will face charges for violating Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
