According to Malacañang, the talks will focus on shared values and mutual interests, creating new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.

During the visit, President Marcos will also express the Philippine government’s gratitude for the UAE’s recognition of Filipino talent, praising its inclusive environment that fosters “kindness, respect, and tolerance.”

Despite the brief nature of the trip, the administration emphasized its potential to generate substantial goodwill and strengthen Philippine-UAE relations.

The President’s delegation has been reduced to the “barest minimum” to streamline the trip, with the President opting to return to Manila immediately after the meeting.

He cited the need to personally oversee relief and reconstruction efforts in areas devastated by six successive typhoons.

He apologized to the Filipinos in the UAE who had hoped to meet him, explaining that his priority is to support recovery efforts back home.

The UAE is home to a significant Filipino community, with many contributing to the nation’s workforce across various sectors.
