President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday praised the resilience of Isabela residents, who have endured six consecutive typhoons this year.
During his visit, Mr. Marcos distributed Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) and Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROMs) to local beneficiaries.
He acknowledged the strength and unity of the province’s people in facing challenges brought about by climate change.
“We recognize the perseverance of our countrymen here in Isabela and across the nation who are striving to recover from the devastation caused by successive typhoons,” Mr. Marcos said in his speech.
“I see the courage and solidarity of Isabela’s residents as they rise above these trials,” he added.
The President assured residents that the government remains committed to the rehabilitation of typhoon-hit areas, highlighting farmers as a key priority of his administration.
“Rest assured, the government is tirelessly working to rehabilitate affected communities. Our priority remains lifting our fellow citizens out of poverty, especially our farmers,” he stated.
The President also urged farmers and fisherfolk to enroll in the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) expanded insurance program under the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation.
The initiative aims to protect livelihoods against the impacts of future calamities by covering crops, equipment, and other resources.
“This insurance is crucial, particularly for regions like this that are frequently hit by typhoons and disasters,” President Marcos said, encouraging stakeholders to take advantage of the program.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to modernizing agriculture and developing climate-resilient practices and tools.
“The government continues to take steps to ensure our agricultural processes and equipment are modern and adaptable to the changing climate,” he said.
