DOH warns public versus misinformation on Covid-19 being a bacterium, not a virus

The Department of Health (DOH) issued a warning to the public regarding false claims that Singapore has discovered COVID-19 does not exist as a virus but rather as a bacterium exposed to radiation, which purportedly causes human death through coagulation in the blood.

The DOH clarified that COVID-19 is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, not a bacterium.

Additionally, the Singapore Ministry of Health stated that this misinformation did not originate from their agency and referenced similar misleading claims that have emerged in other countries.

The DOH advises the public to remain vigilant against misleading information about COVID-19 and to seek updates only from legitimate sources and platforms, such as the Department itself, which can be accessed through their official website and social media channels.
