Iloilo City — Dengue cases in Iloilo City are gradually decreasing, according to latest data from the Iloilo City Health Office (CHO).
From January 1 to November 3, the city recorded 1,810 dengue cases, with six fatalities and only eight active cases remaining.
The number of barangays with dengue case clusters also decreased significantly from 54 to just 14 as of November 3.
This improvement allowed the CHO to close the hydration facility on the second floor of the La Paz Maternity and Reproductive Health Center.
Since the facility’s opening on August 21, only one dengue patient was admitted for treatment.
Despite the declining numbers, the CHO urges the public to remain vigilant and follow the 4S strategy of the Department of Health to prevent further outbreaks.
Iloilo City was placed under a state of calamity in August due to the surge in dengue cases.
