Malacañang sets 13 special non-working holidays across provinces, cities

Malacañang announced a series of special non-working days in various cities, municipalities, and provinces nationwide in recognition of local celebrations and commemorations.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued Proclamations No. 711 to 726, granting residents a day off in multiple locations across the Philippines throughout November and December 2024.

The announcements begin with a special holiday on Friday, November 8, in Tanay, Rizal, followed by Tuesday, November 12, in Valenzuela.

On Friday, November 15, two areas will observe a special holiday: Oriental Mindoro and Borongan in Eastern Samar.

Palayan in Nueva Ecija is scheduled for a holiday on Friday, November 22, as are the municipalities of Itogon and Tublay in Benguet.

On Saturday, November 23, the entire province of Benguet will observe its own special non-working day.

Additional holidays include Monday, November 25, in the Maragusan in Davao de Oro, and Tuesday, November 26, in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Sarangani and the municipality of Piñan in Zamboanga del Norte will both observe a holiday on Thursday, November 28.

Finally, a special day was declared on Thursday, December 5, in Palayan, Nueva Ecija.

Alongside these local holidays, the administration has introduced national observances to raise awareness on specific issues and celebrate Filipino achievements.

The second week of October has been designated as “National Myopia Consciousness Week” under Proclamation No. 722.

October 19 has been proclaimed “Transport Cooperative Day” through Proclamation No. 723, recognizing the contributions of transport cooperatives to the nation.

Lastly, December has been named “Philippine Architecture Festival – National Architecture Month” under Proclamation No. 724.
