Walang Pasok! Classes, work in gov’t offices still suspended for Oct. 24 in Luzon

Malacañang suspended work in government offices and classes at all levels across Luzon on Thursday, Oct. 24, as severe tropical storm ‘Kristine’ continues to bring heavy rainfall and widespread flooding.

The decision follows recommendations from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) due to the forecasted severe weather.

“In view of the continuous rainfall brought about by Tropical Storm Kristine, and to ensure the safety of the general public, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Luzon is hereby suspended on 24 October 2024,” the Office of the Executive Secretary said in a statement.

Malacañang said the also suspension aims to support rescue and relief efforts and ensure public safety.

Government agencies responsible for disaster response, health, and other essential services will remain operational despite the suspension.

Earlier, Malacañang announced similar suspensions for the entire Bicol region, which was battered heavily by ‘Kristine.’

The government left decisions on work suspensions for private companies to the discretion of their respective management.
