AirAsia reports surge in flight bookings for the holidays

AirAsia Philippines experienced a surge in bookings for both domestic and international travel as the holiday season approaches.

The airline already sold over 50,000 seats for the travel period from October 30 to November 3 and expects these numbers to rise further in the coming week.

The top destinations include Boracay, Cebu, Taipei, Bohol, Tacloban, Puerto Princesa, Incheon, Narita, Iloilo, and Bangkok.

“While the season is traditionally observed to commemorate departed loved ones, we’ve noticed that some guests choose to travel early, making use of the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day holidays for leisure trips,” AirAsia Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer Steve Dailisan said.

“Based on our top 10 routes, beach destinations remain a favorite for domestic travelers, while countries that offer a mix of shopping, food, and cultural experiences continue to excite our international guests,” he added.

To assist guests in maximizing their holiday travel experience, AirAsia is providing several tips.

The airline’s current baggage policy allows for a hand carry of 7 kg and advises guests planning to bring back gifts to upgrade their check-in baggage to 60 kg.

Additionally, travelers are encouraged to be mindful of the list of prohibited items and to plan their travels accordingly.

In response to the anticipated increase in holiday travelers, AirAsia has increased its staff at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 2 and 3.
