Anne Curtis clears air with Vice Ganda after live ‘brand-agulan’

It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis-Smith reassured fans on Sunday that she and fellow host Vice Ganda were fine following a controversy surrounding a food chain endorsement.

Anne took to her X account to address the issue and asked fans to stay calm.

She acknowledged that there was a lapse in judgment on both sides but emphasized the need to move forward positively.

“Morning everyone. Guys, kalma. No need for such negative energy. Vice and I are fine. It was a lapse of judgment on both sides. At least we can move forward and be keyrfuul,” Anne wrote.

Anne also jokingly mentioned that backstage banter should be different from on-air interactions. She encouraged everyone to focus on spreading joy every day.

“Ganyan ang biriun backstage but syempre dapat iba pag on air. Kaya kalma. It’s a beautiful day. Gawin na lang #BidaAngSaya every day!“ she added.

On the other hand, Vice requoted Anne’s tweet and echoed what she said.

“Ang kj mo! Ok yan para trending! Chozzz!!! But yes it was lapse of judgement. It was our usual “brandagulan” moment na late nya narealize so nasabi nya ung tagline ng di nya namalayan,” said Vice.

The comedian also revealed that he had already said sorry to Anne.

“I apologized to her And pinagtawanan n lng namin. Our sisterhood will always be Nice Ganda!” Vice ended.

The controversy arose when Anne unintentionally used the popular tagline from Vice’s competitor’s food chain endorsement during their show.

This incident led to discussions about their respective social media endorsements. Anne is currently promoting Jollibee while Vice is an endorser for McDonald’s Philippines.

During the “Especially For You” segment, Vice asked Anne to say “nice,” which she did. Then, she was asked to say “ganda,” and she complied, only to realize afterward that she had used Vice Ganda’s line from his recent commercial for McDonald’s fried chicken. She promptly apologized on air for the misunderstanding.
