Palace taps Enrile daughter Katrina as new CEZA administrator

Katrina Gloria C. Ponce Enrile is the new Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), leading the latest batch of appointees to the government announced by Malacañan Palace on Wednesday.

The daughter of Presidential Chief Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile takes the CEZA post that has a Cabinet rank and is under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Before being appointed, Katrina Enrile ran the family-owned JAKA Investments Corp. and holds executive positions in Philcomsat Holdings Corp. and Montemar Resort & Development Corp, among other companies.

Also appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was Dr. Diana Rose Cajipe as Undersecretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Prior to the DSWD, Cajipe specialized in obstetrics and gynecology since 2006 and served as the Public Information Officer of the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, and later was appointed Assistant Secretary of the Social Welfare Department.

Clarissa Lara Duran and Dianne Joie Ruiz were also appointed as Directors IV of the DSWD.

Ronnie Ong, meanwhile, was tapped as the new Chairman of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), which promotes and oversees the development of water supply systems in provincial cities and municipalities outside of Metro Manila.

The former lawmaker served in the 18th Congress from 2019 to 2022, where he was vice chairman of the House Committee on Rural Development, and a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means.

“Access to safe, potable water is a basic right that should be given to each and every Filipino,” Ong said in a statement as he took his
oath of office before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin in Malacañang.

Also appointed was Mr. Reynaldo Cancio as Assistant Secretary at the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

Cancio is the current Director of National Policy and Planning Staff in NEDA.

Also appointed to NEDA positions were Ria Liza Canlas and Gisela Concepcion as Executive Member, Representative from the Scientific
Community, Mark Gersava as the Executive Member, Representative from the MSME Sector, and Tirso Ronquillo as Executive Member,
Representative from the Academe.

Monchito Ibrahim and Earl Martin Valencia were appointed by President Marcos as Executive Members, Representatives from the Business Sector.

Appointed Assistant Secretaries at the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and Department of Budget and Management (DBM) were
Jefferson Ang and Mary Anne Dela Vega, respectively.

Other appointees were Romelen Tresvalles as Director IV under the Department of Science and Technology, Sonia Cabangon, Director IV of
the Philippine Space Agency, Dennis Ramos and Marisol Sumalbe-Anis as Director IV of the Department of Agrarian Reform, Anna Cristina
Villonco as Director III under PCO, and Gloovy Rose Macato as Director III under the Department of Transportation.
