PNP nabs 3 suspects, seizes P3.7M in marijuana in Laguna buy-bust

Kampo Heneral Paciano Rizal – Authorities arrested three suspects in a Laguna buy-bust operation which also yielded P3.7 million worth of high-grade marijuana.

BUSTED. Cops arrest a “vlogger” and two suspects in a buy-bust operation by the Philippine National Police in Laguna. The operation also yielded P3.7 million worth of high-grade marijuana. Roy Tomandao

Police Colonel Randy Glenn G Silvio, Officer-In-Charge, Laguna PPO identified the suspects as Jerome Zapanta Layson alias Jhem Bayot, 31 years old, single, vlogger, a college undergraduate; Ginalyn Pintang Benisa alias Nalyn , 30 years old, single, helper, high school undergraduate; and Crismark Balboa Alimagno alias Lake, 21 years old, single, helper, elementary graduate.

The suspects are all residents of Brgy San Isidro, San Pablo City Laguna.

According to the San Pablo City Police Station, the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation at 3:18 a.m.

Authorities who pretended to be buyers successfully bought suspected illegal drugs from the suspects.

Seized from the suspects were one package medium size heat-sealed transparent plastic bag containing suspected high-grade marijuana leaves and seeds, three packages medium size heat-sealed transparent plastic bag containing suspected high-grade marijuana leaves and seeds, six packages of large heat-sealed transparent plastic bags containing suspected high-grade marijuana leaves and seeds.

The contraband has an estimated value of P3.7 million.

The suspects are currently in the custody of the San Pablo City Police Station while the seized illegal drugs will be submitted to the Provincial Forensic Unit and Camp Paciano Rizal, Sta Cruz, Laguna Crime Laboratory for forensic examination.

Police Colonel Silvio said “if the sellers and users of illegal drugs don’t stop, the Laguna police won’t stop fighting against drugs.”

PBGen Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr said “People of Laguna Province, expect us to intensify our anti-drug operations so that our youths do not get involved in such activities”.
