Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III has recently spearheaded the distribution of certificates of land ownership in a 215.5-hectare farm lot in Palawan after 14 years of waiting.

Apart from the land title distribution, the Department of Agrarian Reform also provided the 103 farmer-beneficiaries with various farm machinery and equipment.

The land distribution covered the municipalites of Aborlan, Bataraza, El Nido, Brooke’s Point, Narra, Sofronio Española, Quezon, Roxas and Taytay.

He vowed to give his best to ensure that the welfare of the farmers are taken care of under the Marcos Jr. administration.

“Hang in there. We will provide you with more lands and necessary support to help you improve your economic lives,” he promised.

He echoed the position of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to make land distribution free.

Estrella, a former Abono party-list representative, said the Marcos administration would bat for the passage of a law on free land distribution.

He tasked Support Services Office Undersecretary Milagros Isabel Cristobal to support the needs of the agrarian reform beneficiaries through the provision of farm machinery and equipment, including a hauling truck, a 35-HP four-wheel drive truck, multipurpose-seeder with fertilizer applicator and six units of hand tractor with implements.

Other intervention measures shall be provided to make the farmers’ awarded lots become more productive.
