The Philippine National Police is investigating the mysterious disappearance of a pharmaceutical firm chief executive officer who was reported missing in Taguig City last month.

The executive, whose name was temporarily withheld, was last seen in front of his residence at the Bonifacio Global City on July 19.

Initial reports reaching the PNP pointed to the possibility that the CEO was abducted.

In an interview with dzRH, PNP spokesperson Lt. Gen. Jean Fajardo said investigators from the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group are already following up a lead to identify the persons responsible for the disappearance.

Fajardo said the executive was last seen talking to his personal assistant.

She, however, clarified the case cannot be considered as kidnapping at the moment.

The important thing, according to Fajardo, is that the personnel of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group is already following a lead regarding the incident.

The online news site Bilyonaryo.com earlier reported that the president and chief executive officer of a pharmaceutical and medical equipment firm disappeared after asking his assistant to send a large sum of money to his home.

The news site reported the executive was last seen at the passenger side of a Land Cruiser in front of his condominium building in BGC.

It also said that prior to the disappearance, the executive instructed his driver and bodyguard to stay behind in his office as he will go to a meeting at BGC alone.
