Two killed in elevator collapse in Makati

Two persons were killed and two others were injured after an elevator undergoing repair inside a building in Makati City collapsed early Friday.

In a report, the Southern Police District (SPD) said the incident happened around 2:55 a.m. at the Burgundy Tower along Buendia Avenue in Barangay Pio del Pilar.

The two fatalities were identified as Manuel Linayao and Rey Miguel Gilera, both elevator installers and employees of DLC Contractor.

“The above-mentioned victim/deceased and with two other elevator installers from DLC Contractor Company were fixing an elevator on the sixth floor when suddenly an elevator came from 38th floor accidentally fell to the basement that resulted to the death of herein victims and injured of two others,” the report said.

A report on Super Radyo dzBB, citing BFP personnel on the ground, said the second body was yet to be retrieved.
