The President’s daughter, also the incumbent Davao City mayor, earlier said she wanted to establish satellite offices in different regions to bring services closer to the people.

The Philippine National Police said no serious threats have been monitored for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on June 30 in Manila and for Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio on June 19 in Davao City.

Last week, Duterte-Carpio formally reached out to the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education ahead of her expected takeover of both agencies starting July 1, her spokesman said.

In a statement, Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco, Duterte-Carpio’s spokesperson, said the Vice President-elect “has communicated formally with the Office of the Vice President… with the view to ensuring a smooth, orderly, and comprehensive transition.”

Barry Gutierrez, spokesperson of Robredo, assured preparations were ongoing for the turnover.
