The first congressman of the newly-formed 4th District of Rizal province has vowed to hit the ground running even as he expressed gratitude to the people of Rodriguez (formerly Montalban) for the “overwhelming mandate to serve” given to him during the recently concluded elections.

“Taos-pusong pasasalamat sa Montalban sa mandatong mapaglingkuran kayo. Asahan po ninyo na sa lubos ng aking makakaya ay gagantihan ko ang inyong tiwala ng maganda’t tapat na serbisyo, (My sincere gratitude to the people of Montalban for the mandate to serve you.  To the best of my ability, I will reward your trust with good and honest service),” Rep. Fidel Nograles said.

Nograles, currently the representative of the province’s 2nd District, won the congressional race for the 4th District by a landslide, winning by over 60,000 votes over his rivals.

Foremost among his major projects were the P335-million Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital that is currently being constructed in Barangay San Jose.

The lawmaker said that in the next six months, they would target the completion of the out-patient department and emergency room of the 2, 200-bed capacity Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital (NTRH).

Nograles pointed out that “with the construction of the out-patient department and emergency room, we can already start operating the hospital.”

He also urged his constituents to set aside political differences and unite for the shared goal of development for all.  “Now is the time for healing, not just from the pandemic, but also from the wounds caused by the divisiveness of these elections. We have to find a better way to voice out our opinions without resorting to hurtful remarks or condescension.”
