The Lakas Christian-Muslim-Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party on Wednesday clarified the false information on social media about the supposed absence of its vice presidential candidate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, in a grand rally in Palawan on Monday.

In a statement, Lakas-CMD said there “was no no-show to speak of because the UniTeam tandem of former Sen. Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and Mayor Sara had no appointment to be at that campaign rally.”

“The Palawan rally was a political event organized by local support groups/slates. Such event was not included in the UniTeam’s calendar of activities,” the Lakas-CMD party said.

“As the UniTeam proceeds with the few remaining weeks of campaign to the May 9 election day, we urge our supporters and allies to follow official social media and mainstream media platforms for official announcements,” Lakas-CMD said.

It urged its supporters and the public in general to obtain or share information “only from credible platforms,” like the Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, Lakas-CMD, and UniTeam BBM-Sara Facebook Pages.

Meanwhile, despite a heavy afternoon rain, thousands of UniTeam supporters stayed to see the frontrunner tandem of presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and vice presidential aspirant Sara Duterte in a rally at the Pelaez Sports Complex in Cagayan de Oro Tuesday.

In her speech, Sara recalled that they received an overwhelming support from the people of Cagayan de Oro in 2016 when they campaigned for then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s presidential bid.

Duterte, who is now in the final two weeks of her campaign, thanked thousands of people for the sustained love and support their family receives through the years.
