PDP exec says BBM-Sara will win in May elections

From the looks of it, the tandem of BBM-Sara will win the elections on May 9, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) secretary general and Cabinet Secretary Melvin Matibag said on Tuesday.

INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE. The announcement of Matibag was anchored mainly on the overwhelming support of its more than 100,000 members and candidates nationwide and the unquestionable results of trusted surveys of the PDP-Laban’s front-running presidential candidate former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

“Our more than 6,000 candidates, mostly incumbent governors, mayors and congressmen, are hard at work campaigning for the victory of BBM-Sara and the entire PDP Laban slate. That will make the difference in this elections,” Matibag said.

As the campaign slowly waned to just more than two weeks, the tandem’s number increased and their closest pursuers are scrambling down hitting them and the other candidates to somewhat bolster their stock, Matibag said.

However, the PDP Laban remains unperturbed saying they opted to choose Marcos as the party’s presidential candidate because they see in him the resolve to continue what President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has started.

Matibag said it is important the next president of the country will continue the legacy of Duterte.

In Occidental Mindoro, Governor Eduardo Gadiano has committed to deliver a big win for Marcos Jr. during his visit to the province on Wednesday.

Gadiano shared that one of the reasons why he opted to support Marcos was his ability to focus on his tasks of delivering to the people his message of unity and reconciliation without being affected by the dirt and criticisms being thrown his way by his detractors.

Marcos is set to campaign in Oriental Mindoro and Mindoro Occidental before joining Duterte in Batangas later this afternoon.

The UniTeam candidates have been revisiting provinces separately so they could cover more ground in the remaining days of the election campaign.

Speaking before a massive crowd during his recent campaign sortie in Quezon City, Marcos said that some of the original BLISS project started in the said city, a worthy program that can be reactivated to immediately address country’s housing shortfall.

In 1984, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos distributed 25,000 land titles to housing beneficiaries from Balintawak, Quezon City, where he also inaugurated the New Teachers BLISS Condominium II, which still stands today and is now a thriving community.

According to government estimates, the country’s total housing demands will reach 6.8 million units by the end of 2022 and, if left unresolved, will reach 22 million units by 2040. With Rey E. Requejo
