Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio remained the frontrunner for the vice presidential race even as Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III’s voter share grew by six percentage points, the latest survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. showed.

The survey, conducted from March 15 to 22, showed Duterte-Carpios’ voter preferences dropping by four percentage points, from 58 percent to 54 percent.

On the other hand, Sotto’s numbers increased from 29 percent in February to 35 percent in March.

The survey showed that Duterte-Carpio still enjoyed a wide margin in her bailiwick, Mindanao, with 75 percent of the respondents saying they will vote for her if the elections were held in March.

She also was the top choice among respondents from Metro Manila (52 percent) and Visayas (46 percent).
