The Ang Probinsyano Party-List backed government moves to aid the transportation and agriculture sectors amid spiraling prices of petroleum products.

“We are one with the government on its intensified steps to cushion the effects of the increase in oil prices, which could potentially impact our transportation fare and the prices of basic goods,” said Ang Probinsyano Party-List Rep. Alfred Delos Santos.

The lawmaker was referring to the Department of Budget and Management’s release of a total of P3 billion to help public utility vehicle drivers, farmers, and fisherfolk as oil prices continue to soar amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Delos Santos issued the statement as his party-list concluded another weeklong assistance drive in the Visayas.

A total of 539 indigent Filipinos from Compostela, Ginatilan and Naga City in Cebu, and Siquijor were provided support by the Ang Probinsyano Party-List to help them cope with the oil price hikes on the heels of the pandemic.

The beneficiaries include tricycle, habal-habal and multicab drivers, farmers, fishermen, displaced workers, youths, and senior citizens.

Meanwhile, the party-list also distributed educational assistance to 458 high school and college students in Sibonga and Minglanilla towns in Cebu, and in Loboc, Bohol.

Local officials in the said areas warmly welcomed the Ang Probinsyano Party-List’s helping hand so their constituents could stay afloat during these challenging times
