Top local officials of the vote-rich province of Laguna were in full force Friday during a UniTeam campaign grand rally that attracted a huge crowd.
Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) stalwart Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez led the rally for Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his running mate Sara Duterte-Carpio of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) at the Provincial Capitol in Santa Cruz.
Marcos and Duterte-Carpio received the loudest cheers from the audience, who did not mind the overcast skies.
Also on hand were members of the UniTeam senatorial slate, namely Sherwin Gatchalian, Loren Legarda, Mark Villar, Migz Zubiri, Harry Roque, Herbert Bautista, Jinggoy Estrada, Gregorio Honasan, Dante Marcoleta, Robin Padilla, Gibo Teodoro, and Larry Gadon.
After the campaign activity, Hernandez hosted lunch for the survey leading UniTeam tandem and the rest of their team.
Meanwhile, Duterte-Carpio said the UniTeam was the only pairing that followers of Lakas-CMD should support in the May elections.
Duterte, chairperson of the Lakas-CMD, had this to say Friday after she was asked to react on the continued “pairings” that fans or followers do with her and the various presidential candidates in the May 2022 polls.
She thanked those who preferred to vote for her as vice president, but stressed that she was sticking to her partner, Marcos.
“And I continue to appeal and call on them to support the UniTeam of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte,” she said at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex.
