Exec: Marawi housing in ‘final stages’

Housing czar Eduardo del Rosario on Sunday cited subdivision-like development in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, saying the resettlement sites in the area are now in the final stages of completion for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

He recently spearheaded the turnover of 250 housing units to the affected families of the Marawi siege, a five-month-long armed conflict that started on May 23, 2017, between the Philippine government and rebel groups.

All resettlement sites would be finished before the term of the Duterte administration ends on June 30, he said.

He lauded the modern housing designs on subdivision-like communities developed jointly by the National Housing Authority, Social Housing Finance Corp., and United Nations Habitat.

Over 2,700 permanent shelters would be given by the Duterte administration as a grant to the rightful beneficiaries.
