The Ang Probinsyano party-List received a heartwarming welcome from residents of Zamboanga Sibugay during the party’s campaign launch in the province on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022.
The party’s motorcade, led by Rep. Edward Delos Santos and celebrity supporters Jason Abalos and Vickie Rushton, was met with cheers as they toured the town.
Transport groups, health workers, women’s groups, local officials as well as members of the media, youth sector and the LGBTQ community joined the motorcade that started at the Ipil Central Elementary School Grandstand at 2 p.m.
The motorcade was followed by a rally at the grandstand attended by local officials led by second district Rep. Ann Hofer and Vice Gov. Rey Olegario, as well as supporters of the Ang Probinsyano party-list.
In her speech, Hofer shared the projects of the Ang Probinsyano party-list in Zamboanga Sibugay, including multi-purpose buildings, roads, and continued medical, livelihood and educational assistance that have made a difference in the lives of probinsyanos.
“Notably, through their support, we have been able to complete these projects which benefit the probinsyanos here in Zamboanga Sibugay. Thank you for being our partner in progress,” Hofer said.
Meanwhile, Delos Santos called Zamboanga Sibugay their “lucky charm.”
“Three years ago, we knocked on your doors and you were one of the first provinces that didn’t have second thoughts in giving us your full support. We did not forget you, that was why we immediately came back to give the services that you have expected,” Delos Santos said.
Last week, the Ang Probinsyano Party-List launched its campaign in Marikina City and Cebu City.
Talk show host Boy Abunda and actress Ella Cruz graced the Marikina rally while Abalos and Rushton were present in Cebu City.
