Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, topped Pulse Asia’s latest survey on presidential and vice presidential aspirants for the 2022 elections.

The survey, done from December 1 to 6 and the first pre-election poll conducted after the filing of certificates of candidacy, showed Marcos scoring 53 percent, ahead of Vice President Leni Robredo, who scored 20 percent.

Marcos’ lead is anchored on his 64 percent rating in Mindanao, the bailiwick of his running mate.

Marcos’ spokesman, Vic Rodriguez, told a news conference Wednesday the two candidates were grateful to their supporters and that the survey results served as an additional motivation and inspiration for their camp to do more.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Senator Manny Pacquiao tied for third place with an 8 percent rating.Senator Panfilo Lacson received 6 percent, while retired military officer Antonio Parlade Jr., labor leader Leody de Guzman, and former National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales all scored less than 1 percent.
