The Iglesia ni Cristo has endorsed the candidacy of Mayor Abigail Binay in the mayoralty race in the City of Makati in the midterm elections this month.

Binay gains INC backing
TEAM PERFORMANCE.  Former Vice President Jejomar Binay and  Mayor Abigail Binay huddle together during a break in campaign sortie.

Binay, who is seeking her second term under the United Nationalist Alliance, expressed her gratitude to the INC for endorsing her.

The INC also endorsed reelectionists Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo and Makati City 2nd district Rep. Luis Campos, Binay’s father, former Vice President Jejomar Binay, who is running to represent the city’s first district in the House of Representatives, and six candidates for councilor in each district.

“We thank the Iglesia ni Cristo under the leadership of Brother Eduardo Manalo who is always there to support us,” Mayor Binay said. 

The elder Binay also thanked the INC for its endorsement of his candidacy.

The INC has endorsed the following candidates for City Councilor in District 1:  Martin Arenas, VirJhong Hilario, Jojo Javier, Armand Padilla, Joey Villena and Alcine Ichi Yabut.

For the District 2 Councilors, the INC endorsed Dennis Almario, Doris Arayon, Bong Ariones, Bodik Baniqued, Sammy Cruz and Ina Sarosa.  

Meanwhile, the Makati City government will enforce a road closure and a traffic rerouting scheme in Barangay Sta. Cruz starting Friday to give way to the miting de avance of Binay’s “Team Performance.”
