Gun show to process ‘permit-to-carry’ applications

The Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers and the Philippine National Police  will open a  one-stop-shop for processing applications of Permit-to-Carry Firearms Outside of Residence at the 21st Defense & Sporting Arms Show Part 2 on Nov. 14-18, 2013 in SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
According to AFAD President Jethro Dionisio, the services include neuro-psychiatric exam to be administered by PNP Health Services, Directorate for Investigation clearance, drug test by the Crime Laboratory, gun safety seminar (lecture part) by the Civil Security Group and PNP Firearms and Explosives Office, and National Bureau of Investigation clearance.
The one-stop-shop is a joint effort of AFAD and PNP head Director General Alan LM Purisima, a leading proponent in promoting  responsible gun ownership.
As part of the gun shows tradition, the DSAS will give free seminars on Gun Safety & Responsible Ownership by Eustacio Jun Sinco, an FEO-accredited instructor; along with  Filipino Gun Owners Forum: Purpose of your Firearms and the Responsibilities Behind Owning One by MP Concepts.
The show is joined by the 2013 Manila Auto Salon (Nov. 14-17), the country’s largest automotive aftermarket fair.
