Iligan City cuts curfew hours

Residents of Iligan City hail the decision of local authorities to shorten the curfew hours from eight (8) to five (5) hours.

The adjustment takes effect on Thursday.

Curfew today will begin at 11 pm and will last until 4 am the next day.

Prior to this, curfew was implemented from 9 pm to 5 am.

Businessmen complained about this and they reported losses in income.

Even if local officials granted the request, they nevertheless say, curfew for minors remains in effect from 10 pm to 5 am.

This policy was put in place when martial law was declared in Mindanao.

Many residents of Marawi City fled to neighboring Iligan City when fighting escalated between government forces and the Maute group in their hometown.
