LOS BAÑOS, Laguna—A book titled “Learning and Coping with Change: Case Stories of Climate Change Adaptation in Southeast Asia” is now off the presses.

Published by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture, the book features 13 case stories “useful to policy- and decision-makers and other stakeholders.” It may also be downloaded for free via http://bit.ly/2km8cfI.

SEARCA director Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit Jr. said the book is the pioneering work of the First Regional Knowledge Sharing Writeshop on Climate Change Adaptation in Inclusive and Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development.

Saguguit said the “writeshop” brought together scientists and researchers from Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as international agencies working on agriculture and climate change.

“Although there is no “one size fits all” adaptation, there are similarities in approaches, methodologies, and processes involved in identifying and implementing CCA goals and strategies as documented in the case stories,” Saguiguit said.

SEARCA convened the writeshop in partnership with the Oscar M. Lopez Center for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management Foundation Inc. led by Dr. Rodel Lasco, coordinating lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
