Three-month retraining set for erring cops

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to conduct a ‘retraining’ of its members who are involved in crimes such as extortion.

PNP-National Capital Region (NCR) Director Oscar Albayalde says, they are preparing a ‘transformation school’ for these cops.

378 policemen will undergo the retraining.

Most of them come from Quezon City.

Albayalde says, the retraining of law enforcers will take three months.

He adds, the number of cops in Metro Manila will temporarily go down during this period.

Albayalde notes, the reduction in the number of cops patrolling Metro Manila streets is better than a situation wherein cops are all over the place, yet many of them are involved in criminal activities.
