PNP to deploy 1,000 cops for Miss Universe Pageant

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is deploying about one thousand policemen for the Miss Universe pageant.

No security threat relating to the event has been recorded so far.

At least one cop will be assigned to every Miss Universe contestant.

So far, 87 contestants have confirmed their participation to the tilt.

Organizers are waiting for the confirmation of 5 more.

The series of events will begin on January 19 at the Manila Hotel.

Candidates will pay a courtesy call to President Rodrigo Duterte on January 23.

The coronation will be at 8 in the morning on January 30, 2017 (Monday).
