Duterte to hold command conference with PNP and AFP

President Rodrigo Duterte is holding a joint command conference with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday afternoon.

The PNP will give him a briefing on its campaign against illegal drugs dubbed ‘Oplan Double Barrel.’

The AFP will discuss with the President security threats from local terrorist groups, particularly the Abu Sayyaf, the Maute Group and the Al-Khalifa group.

The conference comes three days before the Black Nazarene procession.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael Sueno had said, local terrorist groups may target the religious event.

His statement is based on some intelligence reports.

He says, law enforcement will be on full alert during the ‘traslacion’ on Monday, January 9.
