Diokno to show Duterte plan to give soldiers, cops more benefits

Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno will present to President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday the plan that will provide additional allowances and benefits to policemen and soldiers.

Diokno says, should the President approve his recommendation, it will also benefit other government workers like teachers and nurses.

He notes, the plan is actually the second tranche of a four-tranche salary adjustment initiated by the Aquino administration.

If Duterte will approve Diokno’s presentation, law enforcers may begin to receive additional benefits before the end of this month.

“As far as the military is concerned, we’d be able to comply with Duterte’s wish to double their take home pay by 2018, “ Diokno adds.
