PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa apologizes for the killings that stem from government’s campaign against illegal drugs.

In a speech on Monday morning at the PNP Headquarters in Camp Crame, De la Rosa asked policemen to seek forgiveness from the Lord.

“Ipagdasal ninyo kay Lord na patawad sa lahat ng patayan ngayon. Hindi namin inaamin na kami ang may kagagawan but because of the war on drugs, marami ang napapatay (Pray for the Lord’s forgiveness for the killings. We don’t admit that we are behind them, but because of the war on drugs, many are getting killed).”

As of Monday, December 19, 2016, the PNP Public Information Office (PIO) reports that the number of deaths relating to the campaign against drugs for the last 6 months stands at more than 6,000.

The period begins from July 1 to December 18 this year.
