Malacañang is sending greetings to Pope Francis on his 80th
In a statement, Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said, the Pope continues to inspire people around the world through his humble examples and concern for the poor.
He noted that Filipinos “remain grateful for the historic first visit of His Holiness to the country in 2015.”
Andanar also recalled, “his touching homily in Tacloban has left an indelible memory in the hearts of thousands, especially the survivors of typhoon Yolanda.”
Pope Francis turns 80 today (Saturday).
Vatican has no special event to mark the occasion, except for a commemorative stamp.
This is in keeping with the low-key lifestyle of the Pontiff.
