Rolito Go to remain in hospital

Convicted murderer Rolito Go has received his notice of release from the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) but he will stay in a hospital for an indefinite period due to his poor health.

BuCor officials arrived on Friday night at Metropolitan Medical Center (MMC) in Manila to process his release from the New Bilibid Prison.

Go is currently confined at MMC as he battles with stage four colon cancer.

He says, his only wish is to be given a little more time to live, even if only for a few years, to be with his family.

Go spent 20 years and 8 months in jail for fatally shooting De La Salle student Eldon Maguan in a road rage in 1991.

He is now 69 years old.

The former businessman is asking for forgiveness from the Maguan family, saying that he and his family have suffered enough.

The Supreme Court on Friday issued an order for Go's release from the national penitentiary.
