Magnitude 5 quake hits Surigao Del Norte

A magnitude 5 undersea earthquake hit Siargao, Surigao Del Norte at 9:06 am on Thursday.

Phivolcs says, the tremor had a depth of 32 kilometers and it struck 28 kilometers northeast of Santa Monica in Siargao.

Intensity four was felt in Burgos, Surigao del Norte while intensity three was felt in Surigao City and Hinunangan, Southern Leyte.

No tsunami alert was issued following the earthquake.
