Duterte promises Robredo she will finish her term as VP

President Rodrigo Duterte is assuring Vice President Leni Robredo that she will not be ousted from the vice presidency.

The President also made a guarantee to Robredo that she will remain in her post for the entire duration of her 6-year term.

“I assure Leni that she will stay there until the end of her term,” Duterte said.

Duterte made the statement during an ambush interview after the groundbreaking ceremony of Bicol International Airport in Albay on Thursday afternoon.

Robredo earlier suspected that a plot to remove her from the vice presidency is already being rolled out.

She resigned on Sunday as chairperson of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) after she was advised by the palace to stop joining cabinet meetings.
