9 new foreign ambassadors present credentials to Duterte

Nine newly-appointed foreign ambassadors to the Philippines have presented their credentials to President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacañang.

The diplomats include United States Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim.

The Korean-born diplomat and former US Special Representative for North Korea Policy also had a conversation with Duterte that lasted for about an hour.

Aside from the US envoy, those who submitted their credentials were the ambassadors from Canada, Germany, Malaysia, Kuwait, Hungary, United Arab Emirates, Brunei and Sweden.

Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella says, he hopes the event will lead to a much improved diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the countries that the ambassadors represent.
