The Senate Committee on Public Order continues its investigation into the death of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa while in detention.
His son, Kerwin Espinosa, and Senator Leila De Lima’s former security aide Ronnie Dayan are both attending the hearing.
Dayan claimed he received money only from Espinosa.
He said De Lima did not ask him to pick up money from anyone else.
Dayan said it was De Lima who gave him the cellular phone number of Espinosa.
Espinosa previously said, he gave Dayan a total amount of P 8 million meant to fund her senatorial campaign.
Senator Panfilo Lacson remembered that during the inquiry of the House Committee on Justice, Dayan could not narrate how he established contact with Espinosa.
He urged Dayan to tell the whole truth.
“Dapat yung mga sasabihin mo, papunta sa totoo (your testimony should lead to the truth),” he advised Dayan.
Lacson reminded Dayan that his application for Witness Protection Program is being studied by the Department of Justice and he must appear credible to be able to be accepted in the program.
