Anti-Marcos protests being held in Mendiola

Militant groups opposed to the burial of Former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (LNMB) are marching towards Mendiola in Manila where they are staging a protest early Wednesday afternoon.

They plan to transfer to People Power Monument in White Plains, Quezon City at about 4 pm.

Police who are overseeing public order in Mendiola say, the situation is calm at the moment.

However, they are advising motorists to avoid areas where protests are being held.

Many of the demonstrators assembled at Mehan Garden on Wednesday morning before proceeding to Mendiola.

Some activists also spent Tuesday night joining an anti-Marcos program in front of the Heroes’ Cemetery in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
