Suspected IED found near US Embassy

Motorists along Roxas Boulevard in Manila are experiencing heavy traffic congestion.

This comes, after the Katigbak-Quirino portion of the Southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard was temporarily closed following the discovery of a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the U.S. Embassy.

Members of the Manila Police District-Explosive Ordnance Division (MPD-eod) are now investigating the incident.

A cellphone is reportedly attached to the explosive device, based on the report of a Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) personnel who saw the bomb.

Transactions at the US Embassy have been suspended on Monday morning as people in the area are asked to evacuate for safety reason.
