Dayan: De Lima told me to hide

Ronnie Dayan, the former bodyguard and driver of Senator Leila De Lima, is testifying at the House Committee on Justice hearing on Thursday morning.

He confirmed that he received money from Kerwin Espinosa supposedly on behalf of De Lima.

Dayan recalled Espinosa personally delivered money to him 5 times beginning 2014.

On the fourth time he met Espinosa, it was in Baguio City in November last year, where he had the chance to introduce Espinosa to then Justice Secretary De Lima.

Espinosa had claimed on Wednesday during a separate Senate probe that he gave De Lima a total of P 8 million for her campaign in the 2016 elections.

Dayan also explained why he went into hiding, ignoring the summon of the House of Representatives to appear in the hearing.

Dayan claimed it was De Lima who ordered him to disappear for a while.

De Lima had supposedly sent a text message to his daughter Hanna Mae, “magtago muna siya. Kagagawan ni Speaker Alvarez at dikta ni Digong. Pagpipiyestahan ka lang. Pagpipiyestahan kami.”

De Lima allegedly sent the message on October 1, 2016.
