DA cancels import permits for meat products

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has cancelled the importation permits for all meat products.

This was announced by Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol in a press conference on Tuesday morning.

Pinol explained, this is to stop instances wherein imported meat products have wrong declarations.

He also said, many of the permits have already expired yet they are still being used.

He advised meat importers not to worry.

He claimed, all they have to do is to seek new importation permits from the DA.

The cancellation of these permits takes effect immediately.
