Ombudsman orders Senator Villanueva’s dismissal

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales orders the dismissal of Senator Joel Villanueva.

This comes following the Ombudsman’s ruling which found the senator guilty of grave misconduct, serious dishonesty and conduct prejudicial to the interest of service.

The cases are in connection with Villanueva’s alleged involvement in the questionable use of P 10-million worth of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) back in 2008 when he was the party-list representative of group CIBAC.

Aside from Villanueva, nine other persons have been found liable for the alleged irregularity in the use of the lawmaker's pork barrel.
