Senator Leila De Lima has filed at the Supreme Court a Writ of Habeas Data seeking to stop President Duterte and his administration from supposedly hurling personal insults at her.

She filed the petition at the High Tribunal on Monday morning, accompanied by a group of women.

In a press conference after the filing of the plea, De Lima said, ‘ang paglapit ko po sa Korte Suprema ay para iwaksi ang demonyo. Ang ginawa niyang panlilibak sa akin ay hindi dapat magamit para ilihis ang atensyon sa nagaganap na patayan at paglabag sa karapatang pantao.”

De Lima said, the President had wanted her to commit suicide.

She admitted that the alleged character assassination by the Duterte administration had driven her to the point of isolation.

But the senator maintained, she is a strong woman and a fighter and she can overcome her trials, with the help of groups who give her courage and support.
