Arrested Mayor in South Cotabato faces interrogation

Police are subjecting Banga, South Cotabato Mayor Albert Palencia to tactical interrogation.

This comes, after he was arrested in a raid conducted in his house in Barangay Punong Grande, Banga town by operatives of the PNP Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (RAIDSOTF) in Central Mindanao on Thursday.

The raiding team was looking for drugs, but instead found a grenade launcher and 4 pieces of ammunition for a .380-pistol.

Palencia's six luxury vehicles were also searched.

The mayor was brought to the headquarters of Police Provincial Office in Region 12 for investigation.

Prior to the operation, Palencia was suspected of involvement in drug trafficking supposedly for over a long period of time.
