President Rodrigo Duterte has paid tribute to democracy icons, the late Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino Jr. and Former President Corazon Aquino, by sending flowers to their tombs at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.
Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada has also sent wreaths to the Aquino couple.
A mass will be held at the grave site of the Aquinos on Monday.
Former President Noynoy Aquino and his sister, Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, went to their parents' tombs on Sunday (October 30, 2016) at about 3 pm.
Flowers from Duterte also arrived at the tombs of Former Presidents Diosdado Macapagal, Carlos Garcia and Elpidio Quirino at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (Heroes’ Cemetery) in Taguig City ahead of All Saints' Day on Tuesday.
