PNP: Kerwin Espinosa will be deported in November

Alleged drug lord Kerwin Espinosa will be deported to the Philippines in November.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald Dela Rosa cites the strict immigration rules in Abu Dhabi as the reason why Espinosa continues to be detained there.

“Wala tayong extradition treaty sa kanila e (we don’t have an extradition treaty with them),” says Dela Rosa.

Espinosa was arrested in the capital of the United Arab Emirates on October 17, 2016.

Espinosa’s father, Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. has been in jail since he was nabbed on October 5, 2016 over charges of illegal possession of dangerous drugs and firearms.

The younger Espinosa is being charged for drug trafficking.
