Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) has filed drug trafficking charges against Senator Leila De Lima at the Department of Justice.
The group also included 7 others as respondents.
Other respondents are Former DOJ Undersecretary Francisco Baraan, Former Bureau of Corrections Chief Franklin Bucayu, De Lima’s former security aides Ronnie Dayan and Jonel Sanchez and New Bilibid Prison (NBP) inmate Jaybee Sebastian.
VACC says, as then Secretary of Justice, De Lima had used her influence that supposedly resulted in the proliferation of illegal drug trade inside NBP.
The group submitted as evidence the affidavits of Former BuCor Acting Director Rafael Ragos and NBP inmate Herbert Colangco.
