Alleged New Bilibid Prison (NBP) drug lord Jaybee Sebastian claims that he had raised P 2-million for the campaign fund of then Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, who was running for the Senate.
He says, he gave the money to Jonel Sanchez, the former security aide of De Lima.
Just before Christmas in 2015, he had allegedly talked with Sanchez on the telephone.
Sanchez had supposedly passed on the phone to a woman.
The conversation allegedly went like this:
Woman on the line: “Jaybee, Merry Christmas.”
Sebastian: “Ma’am, Merry Christmas. Natanggap nyo po ba ang regalo ko?”
Woman: “Yes, Jaybee. Merry Christmas.”
Sebastian also alleged that he had sent about P 10-million to De Lima during the campaign season.
He claimed that later on, De Lima had wanted him to give her P 5-million a month.
